The Office actor Martin Freeman will play in The Hobbit

The Office dvd actor Martin Freeman will play Bilbo Baggins in two-part Lord of the Rings prequel The Hobbit, director Peter Jackson has announced. He said in a statement there had "only ever been one Bilbo Baggins for us". Freeman, 39, was "intelligent, funny, surprising and brave - exactly like Bilbo", Jackson added. Meanwhile, Jackson's wife Fran Walsh has reportedly told a radio station filming could move to the UK because of an industrial dispute in New Zealand.

"There are a few times in your career when you come across an actor who you know was born to play a role, but that was the case as soon as I met Martin," Jackson said. Spooks dvd actor Richard Armitage, 39 - who has a role in the forthcoming film Captain America: The First Avenger - will play Thorin Oakenshield - leader of the dwarves. Former EastEnders actor Rob Kazinsky, Sean Slater in the soap, will also play a dwarf.

He will appear alongside Irish actor Aidan Turner, who has appeared in BBC Three's Being Human, and British actor Graham McTavish, who has appeared on TV shows including Red Dwarf. Other dwarves will be played by John Callen, Stephen Hunter, Mark Hadlow and Peter Hambleton.

As with the Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy, the film had been due to be made in Jackson's native New Zealand. But on Thursday, film studio Warner Bros said the ongoing pay wrangle with acting unions had "forced us to consider other filming locations for the first time". Jackson's wife and creative partner Fran Walsh, meanwhile, reportedly told Radio New Zealand that film producers "had people in the UK taking location photographs". "They've got a huge studio there that Harry Potter has vacated, the ex-Rolls Royce factory, that they say would be perfect for us." (by tracy)

Gob Bluth Loves Felicity?

Keri Russell may finally be returning to series television. Discovered by J.J. Abrams for Felicity, Russell has resisted TV in recent years, except for some guest appearances, such as a two-episode stint on Scrubs.

So what's drawing her back? As first reported by EW.com's Michael Ausiello, Russell is in talks to star with Will Arnett in Wilde Kingdom. The FOX comedy pilot was co-written by Arnett and his Arrested Development creator, Mitch Hurwitz, along with another Arrested alum, Jim Vallely. Arnett stars as Steve Wilde, a self-centered Beverly Hills playboy who falls for his polar opposite – a tree-hugging humanitarian, who Russell may potentially play.

In other pilot casting, the Hollywood Reporter says Jimmy Smits (Revenge of the Sith / Dexter) will star in the still-untitled NBC drama from John Eisendrath about a former supreme court justice who goes into private practice. The project is notable because it comes from Conan O'Brien's Conaco productions, putting O'Brien and NBC back in business together shortly after their very public split.

Another Arrested alum, Judy Greer, is starring with David Krumholtz in FOX's Tax Man. The comedy follows the eccentric staff of a Fresno, CA IRS office who are shaken up by the arrival of a former Morgan Stanley secretary (Greer) nicknamed the Terminator. Cheap DVD Box Set

Jerry O'Connell will star with Jim Belushi in the CBS legal pilot Defenders. O'Connell's casting is interesting, in that he already has shot another pilot recently, NBC's Rex Is Not Your Lawyer, starring David Tennant (Doctor Who). NBC could still pick Rex up for fall, but the Reporter notes he was technically considered a guest star on that pilot, whereas he's a lead on Defenders.

Jason Biggs (American Pie) joins CBS's comedy True Love, along with Dan Fogler (Fanboys / Balls of Fury). Biggs will play a lawyer who falls for a stranger (Minka Kelly, Friday Night Lights), while in a long-term relationship, with Fogler as his best friend.

Madchen Amick (Damages, Twin Peaks) joins Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter) in FOX's drama Pleading Guilty. Isaacs plays a cop-turned-attorney having an affair with a colleague (Amick)

Broke Bloom and Vanessa Minnillo join NBC's comedy This Little Piggy about a guy (Ben Koldyke) dealing with two underachieving siblings moving in with him.

Anna Chlumsky (Yep, My Girl) will play one of the leads in CBS's drama Quinn-Tuplets, also about a group of adult siblings.

The cast of CW's Nikita (looks like the full La Femme Nikita has been cut down) is looking pretty cool, as Melinda Clarke (The OC) and Aaron Stanford (Pyro from the X-Men films) join, alongside Maggie Q in the title role. Clarke plays a division operative whom Nikita works for, while Stanford is a computer specialist.

Mary Elizabeth Ellis (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's Waitress) and Hayes MacArthur join a cast that includes Olivia Munn in NBC's comedy Perfect Couples, centering around three different couples.

The new issue of Us Weekly has eight pages of gorgeous official photos from Fergie and Josh Duhamel's estimated $1 million rock 'n' roll wedding.
The bride -- who donned two one-of-a-kind Dolce & Gabbana dresses and Jimmy Choo shoes for the big day -- tells Us exclusively that her Jan. 10 nuptials to her beau of about five years were "magical, ethereal."
The affair -- held on the lush grounds of the ultra-private 8,000-square-foot Church Estate Vineyard in Malibu, California -- was all about small details that "incorporated both our personalities," Duhamel tells Us.
"Lots of nature was important to Josh," celeb planner Mindy Weiss tells Us. "I knew I could bling it up for Fergie."
What did the groom think when he saw his bride walk down the aisle?
"Keep it together, you big baby!" he jokes to Us.
After their traditional Catholic ceremony, the party really got started. The bride's first words to her crowd?
"She said, 'I'm married, bitches!'" Wilhelmina president Sean Paterson tells Us. "People were cheering and screaming. It was like being at a rock concert."
(That wasn't the only performance of the evening; see photos in the newest issue of Us Weekly of the newlyweds jamming on stage with Kid Rock, Will.I.Am and Slash!)
For the only interview with the bride and groom and eight pages of stunning photos -- plus details on Fergie's pre-wedding workout plan and exact song list (it took two music meetings to get right!), pick up the latest issue of Us Weekly, on stands now.
